The Georgetown “Achievers” are a group of seniors at Georgetown High School who are enrolled in Citizenship and Career Exploration, a Learn and Serve Ohio Program. This program is designed to promote and expand the active participation of young citizens in the Georgetown community and allow them to explore career options. Through volunteerism, students gain practical community service-learning experiences and have applied their academic knowledge and skills to community based issues and needs.

Community Partnerships have been formed with the Ohio Veterans Home, Meadowood Nursing Facility, Brown County Hospital, Brown County Chamber of Commerce, Brown County Recycling Center, and the Georgetown Elementary School. Under the direction of Col. Howard Willis, program advisor, students spend several hours each week volunteering at one of these sites. In addition, the Georgetown “Achievers” spend countless hours working to better Georgetown High School through implementing a recycling program, assisting with the annual Science Day, working at the annual College Fair, as well as providing workshops and assemblies for fellow students. Through this program, the students develop leadership skills, diversity awareness, communication skills, an understanding of social issues, and a sense of civic ethics.
