The
National Honor Society at the Ripley Union Lewis Huntington
School District spent April 24 completing community service
projects around Ripley. Community volunteers and Ripley staff
were on hand to assist the students. Together, everyone cleaned
up, weeded and placed plants in two significant locations: The
Gazebo in the Maplewood Cemetary and the "Rose Garden"
located on Ripley's Historic Riverwalk. The Gazebo was partially
built by Ripley students and dedicated to all Veterans. This
year the students stained the Gazebo too. The "Rose Garden"
was created in loving memory of local community vounteers, Joanne
May and Roberta Gaudio's mother. Approximately 30 students,
pictured here, worked six hours on both projects.
