Learn and Serve “Achievers” Recognize “National Make A Difference Day”

Perianne Germann , Georgetown

Mayor Dale Cahall presented the Georgetown Jr.-Sr. High School Learn and Serve Class with his Proclamation for “Make a Difference Day.” Saturday, October 27, is recognized as our nation’s largest day of volunteerism. Citizens throughout America will demonstrate their commitment to building stronger communities by simply helping someone else. Mayor Cahall presented the class with the proclamation in support of their volunteer efforts. Learn and Serve, Ohio is an academic school elective based, in part, on volunteerism.

Georgetown Jr.-Sr. High School Learn and Serve "Achievers" encouraged their fellow students to "Make a Difference" and have been setting a great example with their own volunteerism. Every student was encouraged to give time and effort, helping people around Georgetown this weekend. Saturday is officially "Make a Difference Day" across the nation. In Ohio, our own First Lady, Mrs. Frances Strickland and the head coach of the Ohio State University, Coach Jim Tressel are the co-chairs for Ohio.

Accepting on behalf of the “Achievers” is Tiffany McFarland.
