Mayor
Dale Cahall recognizes the volunteerism of the Georgetown
Jr.-Sr. High School’s Learn and Serve Class by proclaiming
Saturday “Make a Difference Day.” On Saturday,
October 25, many organizations across our nation volunteered
time and effort to make it our largest day of volunteerism.
Throughout America, citizens demonstrated their commitment
to building stronger communities by just lending a helping
hand to their fellow citizens. October 25th is officially
"Make a Difference Day" across the nation. In Ohio,
First Lady, Mrs. Frances Strickland and the head coach of
the Ohio State University, Coach Jim Tressel, are the co-chairs
for this event. Mayor Dale Cahall presented the class with
the proclamation in support of their volunteer efforts.
In their fourth year, the “Achievers” of Georgetown
Jr.-Sr. High School’s Learn and Serve Ohio program,
are encouraging their fellow students to "Make a Difference"
in the community. Every student is encouraged to volunteer
some time and help people around Georgetown this week.
Accepting Mayor Cahall’s Proclamation, on behalf
of the “Achievers” is Marilyn Sturgill. In the
