Georgetown
Jr.-Sr. High School recognized Constitution Discovery Week with
activities covering the United States Constitution. The “Learn
and Serve Ohio” Class were responsible for many of these
activities. A contest was held during the school lunch periods
with students competing on a volunteer basis. On Wednesday,
Mrs. Germann read the Constitution Day Proclamation to the student
body and signed it. Also, daily announcements addressed the
importance of the freedoms we enjoy as set forth in our Constitution.
On
September 17, 1787, the 55 delegates to the Constitution Convention
held their final meeting. So important was that meeting that
only one item of business occupied the agenda that day, to
sign the Constitution of the United States of America. Pictured
with Mrs. Germann are Abby Bergren and Jayme Steinman, who
witnessed the signing of the document.
Members
of the Learn and Serve “Achievers” are pictured,
assisting participates with the contest are from left to right;
