and Learn & Serve Ohio “Achievers” at
Georgetown Jr.-Sr. High School

Student
volunteers from FCCLA and the “Learn and Serve Ohio”
have again agreed to work together on Project Linus for the
third straight year. Altogether, these students will donate
hundreds of volunteer hours in making and distributing blankets
to several organizations within the Georgetown community.
The two programs can realistically achieve
their goal of increasing output again this year by starting
in September. They are already cutting material into blanket
size, months ahead of time. Next, the students will carefully
craft the Polar Fleece material into superb blankets. They
will make two sizes, one size for small children and one for
adults.
Volunteerism is a strong thread in the fabric
that makes up a community and these young high school students
are already applying what they have learned to be good citizens.
Their volunteer efforts are, in part, what makes Georgetown
a better community.
